Vice President
Brian is a globally-recognized leader in green investment strategy and policy, having advised many energy companies, financiers, and over twenty governments, at the highest levels. He is Senior Advisor to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the Sustainable Debt Coalition, also supporting the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.
Previously, Brian led a team in climate investment analysis, modelling, and advisory at the University of Oxford, where he gained international media acclaim, including for his pioneering use of artificial intelligence for climate finance. Spending time as a Fellow at Harvard University, he has published over 15 peer-reviewed works, including with Nobel Prize Laureate Joseph Stiglitz and Sir Nicolas Stern. He continues to maintain an ad-hoc research and advisory role at the University of Oxford.
Prior to that, he was a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, advising major energy corporations on the energy transition. His first role was as an engineer for CIMIC Group (Australia’s largest infrastructure contractor), supporting a sustainable transport megaproject.
A Rhodes Scholar, Brian earned his PhD from the University of Oxford, where he used artificial intelligence to describe the economic and financial aspects of green investment. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce (Finance and International Business) and Engineering (Civil) from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded 1st Class Honours and the University Medal. Brian is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
